How this Bonus Calculator works
This tool uses bonus, regular pay and optional withholding rate to calculate the displayed estimate. Inputs remain editable so you can match your actual work schedule or pay arrangement.
Formula and assumptions
The result uses straightforward gross-pay arithmetic from the values entered above. It does not infer tax filing status, state withholding, benefits or payroll deductions.
The optional percentage field is only a simple withholding preview, not a tax-liability calculation. Supplemental-wage withholding can depend on payroll method and IRS rules.
Example and planning tips
Use the pay rate and schedule from your offer letter, time sheet or pay statement. If your hours, premiums or paid weeks vary, test more than one scenario rather than treating a single estimate as guaranteed pay.
Important limitations
Employment rules can vary by worker classification, employer, state and locality. A calculator result does not determine whether a worker is legally entitled to overtime, holiday premiums, PTO or any other benefit.
Sources and methodology
Primary source for federal withholding context: IRS Publication 15 and Publication 15-T (2026). Last reviewed October 17, 2026.
