How this Total Car Ownership Cost Calculator works
This calculator uses the values you enter and transparent arithmetic to create a US-focused planning estimate. Defaults are examples, not quotes or guaranteed market values.
Formula and assumptions
The result uses only the displayed inputs. Financing tools use standard amortization math where applicable; EV tools use entered battery, efficiency, charging-power and electricity assumptions.
Use better inputs
For a realistic comparison, enter current lender quotes, local tax rates, actual vehicle value, measured efficiency, electricity prices and transaction fees. Run more than one scenario before making a purchase or refinance decision.
Important limitations
This tool is educational and is not a lender quote, dealer offer, appraisal, tax determination, engineering specification or financial advice.
